Master Pumpkin Carvers

As promised, here are a few pictures of our Family Night Pumpkin Carving Party. This is our third year having friends and family over to carve pumpkins together. It has become a fun tradition! This year we had Amber and Zane and family, Matt and Chantile and family, Valerie Caton and two of her daughters, and of course LJ. It could only have been more fun if Joe and Tabby and Griffin had been able to come! We all missed you guys!! (Heather and Nate - maybe someday you will be close enough to come too - we miss you all so much!) By the way, there are three new posts I added today, so keep scrolling down to see them)

LJ always has such creative ideas - you can't see his very well in this shot, but he used the stem as the nose and carved a face around it - its way cute! Good job LJ!

Halloween Carnival

Quite the troop, huh?! Amber was a princess (we girls never grow out of that do we?)
Dalin was a bat - cutest little bat I know

Jasmine was a pirate- aye matey, she's the prettiest pirate on the high seas!


On Friday 10.24.08 Amber's ward had a Halloween Carnival at church. Papa wasn't feeling well, so he stayed home, but I picked up Jasmine and we all joined in the fun! They had "Trunk-or-Treat" in the parking lot afterwards (that's where everyone brings some candy and decorate their trunk and had out the candy as the kids walk from car to car. We do it too in our Ward. We will have out "Trunk-or-Treat" on Halloween night, this Friday) It was a fun evening!!




Our self proclaimed "page-lee-un-tologist" (Ever since Ciara has been 2 she has declared that she will be a paleontologist when she grows up! I hope she never looses sight of her dream!)




One of the games was a bow and arrow game - Ciara and I went 3 for 3! That's some sharp shootin'

Dinner at Grandma Wells'

George's sister Sharren was in town this past weekend so we had dinner at Grandma and Grandpa Wells' house. We've had other family in this past month but forgot the camera when Mary was here and we missed the weekend with Cheryl because of a fireside in our ward. I thought you might like to see a couple of pictures we took. Enjoy!

For family night we went and picked out our pumpkins for Halloween.

Brother Neugebauer let us take some that he grew in his garden. We usually go to the Pumpkin Patch and pick them right from the field, but with the heavy snow we had we were afraid they would all be mushy. Luckily, Brother Neugebauer picked his and had about 200 pumpkins in his garage! The kids (big and small) had fun choosing their perfect pumpkin. Of course the girls found the perfect "Cinderella" pumpkins! Next family night we are going to carve them so there will certainly be pictures of that!!

*I appeared on TV on a noon news station interview for something I did in Middle School.....can't even remember what for....but I remember tapping the segment at the studio.
*I graduated with a 4.0 from my post-bachelor's teaching program from CSU
*I won a regional WallyBall (volleyball in a racquetball court) tournament in Santa Monica, California - one of my team mates was on the 1984 women's Olympic volleyball team (AND we had to play against all men because there were no other women's team! Boy were they mad when we won our division!!)
*I won the Boy Scout Boat Regatta competition in the adult division-was kinda fun to bet out all the dad's - I was the only mom to compete
*I've always thought it would be a blast to go on tour and be a backup singer for a famous singer
*My all time favorite toy when I was little were Match Box Cars
*I give amazing foot rubs...well...that's what I'm told by those who have received one
*I came very close to drowning once when I was a teenager...VERY SCARY!

Winter Ready

It's time to winterize the temple grounds. The youth were given the assignment today to go and help. They worked hard pulling bulbs and the annual plants that are replaced each spring. They had a good time and so did the leaders. George is a little sore today though!!

George and his big boy toy - well, I suppose he would argue the "toy" part! - he always works right along side the boys!


George is the Young Men's President in our Ward. As I mentioned in that last post, the snow fall gave him a ready-made service project. He and the young men went around Wednesday night and helped many people both in the ward and just members of the community by cutting up downed tree limbs. They called the city and got a few names of folks that had no way to take care the limbs. There was a total of 41.5 hours donated with all those that came to help! I dropped by and snapped a few pictures of the work and fun! A lot was accomplished along with a few snowball fights to boot! (Mom and dad, I put a few pictures of some of the young men I knew you would remember!)

Chantile's Birthday!

A little help always comes in handy!


This is way past due to appear on the blog as Chantile's birthday was actually on September 17th! We weren't able to celebrate for 2 whole weeks as a stomach flu was making its rounds through the family - yuck! But, now everyone is well and doing great. Chantile had the best birthday gift of all a little late. She had her annual heart check up and she is doing great! There is still some residual damage, but the doctor was amazed at how well she has healed - far beyond his expectations! We were all thrilled and the evening after her appointment Matt surprised her with a dozen roses and a dinner out with Jasmine and his friend Russ to celebrate! Certainly something to celebrate for sure. We love you Chantile!

Winter Wonderland

This is our neighbors house - Wayne and Cheryl. Cody just loves them and is over for visits and to "help" Wayne when ever he sees any sign of life! (And sometimes when he doesn't)

It seems this weekend's storm has made an impression on all of us. I was checking out everyone elses blog and you all have pictures of what the storm left behind! It was quite a preface for the winter ahead. Church was cancelled for all of Billings I understand and Laurel only had sacrament for those who could make it. Luckily our truck made it no problem! Sunday afternoon George and I drove around and took a few picture of the beautiful snow. It really was breath taking even though it reeked havoc on power lines and trees. Unfortunately many people lost huge limbs from their trees as the weight of the wet snow was too much. Well, now George and the Young Men have a ready made service project for them this Wednesday helping a few ward member clean up the branches!

Beautiful Fall

George and I had to go to Colstrip a couple of weeks ago. It was a beautiful drive!! We came the long way home of course!!

It's always fun to spot the deer!
